[ Business context ]
When the Indian market began showing explosive interest in live streaming apps, Chingari’s founders released a basic prototype. It was extremely limited, roughly 1‑2% of the features the product has today, but users started downloading it rapidly.
Seeing real traction, the client decided to expand the product and hired a large international team.
The Onix team joined as outstaff specialists to refine the prototype, enhance performance, and help transform Chingari into a next-generation social entertainment platform with live streaming capabilities.

[ Product scope ]
The Onix team was responsible for:
Fixing and refactoring the early prototype into a stable codebase
Optimizing video streaming, CDN logic, and AWS transcoding
Implementing microservices architecture and designing high-load infrastructure
Integrating real-time features: live streams, group video, audio rooms
Developing a crypto wallet and GARI token features
Creating internal payment flows (diamonds) and an in-app economy
Building custom SDKs for crypto and betting games
Implementing security best practices
Ensuring platform stability during massive load spikes

[ Solutions we provide ]
The Onix team helped transform Chingari from a raw prototype into a high-load, feature-rich, crypto-powered social platform for live streaming that runs across iOS, Android, and the web.
To deliver a seamless experience for millions of users, Chingari needed more than feature development. It required stability, speed, and a robust technology backbone.
The Onix team stepped in to rebuild the app’s core, implement high-load streaming and social features, and create the tools that power Chingari’s unique user economy.
Stabilizing the Prototype and Building a Smooth Video Experience
When Onix joined the project, Chingari was only a raw prototype with minimal functionality. We began refactoring the codebase and addressing critical issues to demonstrate how to build a live streaming app on a stable foundation.
A key early task was the creation of a short-video feed. Users had to be able to swipe instantly without lag. We customized the video player, rewrote caching logic, optimized CDN behavior, and fine-tuned AWS transcoding. As a result, videos weighed four times less without losing quality, loaded quickly, and created the seamless swipe experience the market expected.

Transitioning From Short-Video Format to Full Live Streaming Platform
As soon as the initial video experience was stabilized, the client shifted direction. Chingari needed to move beyond short videos and become a large real-time entertainment platform.
Our team helped build an app with live streaming features, including:
real-time broadcasts,
group video sessions,
PK Battles,
and private paid calls.
We ensured fast startup times, low latency, and UI stability even when thousands of users joined simultaneously. This shift transformed Chingari into a dynamic live entertainment ecosystem.

Developing High-Load Architecture for Real-Time Interactions
Chingari’s growth required a powerful backend capable of handling massive traffic spikes, sometimes reaching hundreds of bets, payments, or gifts per second.
To build a live streaming app, we implemented a microservices architecture, optimized database synchronization, and designed an infrastructure that can scale quickly while maintaining a seamless user experience.

Developing Audio Rooms and Community Spaces
To boost engagement, we helped build a live streaming experience with audio rooms for discussions and host interactions, plus community rooms featuring quizzes, polls, and interactive group events.
These features required a reliable, real-time architecture, so we engineered them to remain stable even under high concurrent loads, ensuring smooth audio, fast role switching, and instant reactions.

Launching the GARI Cryptocurrency and Wallet
When building a live streaming platform, one of the most unique challenges was integrating Chingari’s own cryptocurrency, GARI, which is built on the Solana blockchain. We developed a complete in-app wallet where users could:
securely store their tokens
view and sign transactions
earn GARI through activity (mining logic)
withdraw or trade tokens externally
We also created a standalone SDK, allowing GARI and the platform’s reward mechanics to be integrated into other Android apps, thereby unlocking new business opportunities for the client.

Creating Interactive Games and Engagement Mechanics
To build a live streaming app that’s more engaging, our team added quizzes, challenges, contests, and real-time games where users can compete and earn diamonds.

Expanding Revenue Through a Standalone Betting Game SDK
When building a live streaming app, we developed a large betting game (with racing cars), complete with its own SDK. Other platforms could integrate this SDK into their own apps, while Chingari received a commission from every game.
These mechanics significantly boosted retention and opened new monetization channels.

[ Results ]
When Onix joined the project, Chingari had around 1M downloads and a minimal feature set, making it a perfect case to demonstrate how to build a live streaming app that attracts and retains users.
After the refactoring, scaling, optimization, and rollout of new functionality, Chingari achieved:
100M+
downloads
Massive growth in engagement, active users, and live stream activity
New revenue streams through crypto, diamonds, games, and gifting
Stable and secure performance even under extreme loads
This success became possible thanks to Onix’s experience in how to build a live streaming platform, leveraging strategic architecture, performance optimization, and fast feature delivery.
