A unified digital solution for events, accommodation, and entertainment discovery
This case study explains how we designed a new digital brand — What’s on Tenerife — focused on becoming the number one resource for researching, discovering, and exploring events, activities, and accommodation in Tenerife. The platform brings together experiences, hotels, bars, restaurants, resort entertainment, and media content into a single intuitive interface.

[ Business context ]
The founders aimed to build a modern digital brand targeting a younger demographic influenced by gaming culture, Instagram, YouTube, and contemporary media platforms.
Tenerife is a globally recognized tourist destination, yet digital discovery remains fragmented across:
Hotel websites
Event pages
Social media platforms
Travel blogs
Independent directories
There was no single platform that unified:
Events
Hotels
Bars & clubs
Restaurants
Resort entertainment
Tourist information
Media content (videos, photography, podcasts)

[ Product scope ]
During our collaboration, the Onix team needed to:
Design the platform’s visual identity
Develop user flow architecture focused on user goals
Create structured navigation across core categories
Build wireframes for key pages
Design high-fidelity UI screens
Ensure scalability for future booking features

[ Solutions we provide ]
Our team was responsible for the full UX and UI design process. We focused on building a visually immersive yet highly structured platform that balances excitement with usability.
During the project, we delivered the following solutions:
User Flow Architecture
We designed a user flow centered around key user intentions: discovering, exploring, and engaging. The main navigation was structured into three primary areas: Latest, Home, and Explore. The Latest section aggregates news, videos, photography, and podcast content. Home functions as the central discovery hub, guiding users through featured highlights and curated sections. Explore provides categorized listings including hotels, bars, restaurants, events, and resorts. This architecture ensures that users can move seamlessly from inspiration to detailed information without confusion or friction.

Wireframing & Interaction Design
At the wireframing stage, we defined the ideal sequence of actions for each core function. This included structuring the landing page introduction, building the Explore Tenerife category view, designing destination detail pages, and organizing resort entertainment listings. The wireframes allowed us to validate content hierarchy, navigation logic, and interaction clarity before transitioning into high-fidelity visual design.

Visual Identity & UI Design
We focused on creating a bold and modern aesthetic influenced by entertainment platforms and gaming culture. The interface incorporates dark gradient backgrounds enhanced with vibrant accent elements. Strong typography and large headlines emphasize energy and personality, while immersive hero sections create an immediate emotional connection. Clear category segmentation ensures intuitive browsing, and the overall design minimizes friction while maintaining readability and usability. The result balances aspirational visuals with structured navigation.

Content & Media Integration Strategy
The platform was designed to support modern media formats, including high-resolution imagery, embedded video content, podcast integration, and the potential for live content expansion. This media-first approach enables immersive storytelling and FOMO-driven engagement while preserving a clean and organized navigation system that supports long-term scalability.
